About Planta's watering schedulePlanta’s watering schedule is calculated based on a set of designated algorithms. These algorithms take into account a number of different factors. As a result, each of your plants is then automatically given a unique schedule of tasks to best help it thrive. Our database includes thousands of plants, each with different care needs. The parameters that we use to determine your individual plant’s needs include: The type of plant – each plant has a specific environment in which they are most suited, such as tropical or arid etc.

How do I create a custom care schedule for a plant?Planta automatically suggest a care schedule for watering, fertilizing and for example misting your plants. This care schedule is based on several parameters such as location, light, season and temperature to make sure it is as correct as possible for your needs. Sometimes you want to override this and set your own watering schedule. You can create a custom care schedule by: Go to My plants Choose plant Settings (gear in top right corner) Custom care Toggle on/off as you like!

Should I also be watering when I use liquid fertilizer? On days when your plant requires fertilizer, the watering and fertilizing tasks are combined, and therefore the watering schedule is adjusted to make sure you don't over- or underwater. Therefore, when fertilizing, you should be diluting your liquid fertilizer in water so that you don’t burn the plant’s roots, and then pour this mixture into your plant pot as you would when watering. You can read more about this if you go to your plant's Info tab and then scroll down to 'Liquid Fertilizing'.
