How does Planta use weather data to give accurate care advice?Planta uses your location data to give you the correct local weather. To be able to give as accurate weather as possible Planta uses weather data from +47,000 live weather stations around the globe. To be even more precise Planta uses data from multiple sources. The weather and temperature are used to schedule your watering tasks as accurate as possible. The weather data is also used to alert about weather conditions, for example when you need to give your plants extra care because of heat waves, or when there will be freezing temperatures and you need to protect your plants.
-
Location data is needed for weather information to workIf a user hasn't given permission for the app to use location data, Planta has no possible way to know where they are located and therefore no way to give correct weather information, temperature or care advice. In this case, we will use the default for the country which may differ a lot from the user's real data. If user hasn't given permission to location data, Planta will not send push notifications with weather alerts.
